Boom Bap Radio – Aug. 17, 2013

Cousin Ricko’s Revenge

The Boom Bap Radio crew, minus J-Crush, tackle the Twitter explosion of outrage that came from Kendrick Lamar’s lyric and welcome back Cousin Ricko to the panel for a refreshing take on the social media firestorm. The Angry Engineer, the CO and Masta Talka give their weekly lesson on real Hip-Hop and tackle the firestorm over Lamar’s “diss.”  We also talked about the week’s news: the Egyptian uprising against the Egyptian uprising; challenges to NYC’s Stop and Frisk, the attorney who leaked info that led to Pac’s shooting in 1994 and Ghostface’s top 10 list of softest MC’s. Hip-Hop was and is always in the house. The Fugees, Marley Marl, Ultramagnetic MC’s, MC Lyte, and 3rd Bass were all in the house. Yeah Uncle Russ, we twerked it like we were Harriet Tubman – No joke! It’s – Boom Bap Radio!
