Boom Bap Radio – Nov. 23, 2013

Old to the New/New to the Old III

Every now and again at Boom Bap Radio we’ve got to give pause and take a deeper look at the art form that has reshaped popular music in the 21st Century. Hailing Hip-Hop as the true resurrector of American music and pop culture, the BBR crew digs in the crates and plays not its normal funky music, but also the original songs they sampled. Masta Talka, J-Crush The Angry Engineer and C.O. take a walk on the wild side with the help of Lou Reed; A Tribe Called Quest; Lyn Collins, The Real Roxanne, Busta and Flipmode Squad, the Latin Rascals as well as Mozart and Beethoven – yeah, I said it – funky –ass  Ludwig Van!  We also recount the week’s biggest headlines, despite threats from George Zimmerman, a crack binge from Toronto Mayor Rob Ford and a tawdry, but scenic motorcycle ride with Kimye. Ah ha honey, it’s Boom Bap Radio!
